Our Coal Relocation Story

Eight years ago, our family made the move from the Appalachian coalfields of Virginia to Alabama for new opportunities with Warrior Met Coal. We know firsthand what it feels like to pack up, relocate, and start fresh in a new community because we’ve lived it ourselves. That experience gave us a clear understanding of the challenges coal miners and their families face when relocating for coal jobs — from finding housing for coal miners and navigating financing to getting settled in a brand-new town.

Today, coal is still at the center of our lives. Penny’s husband, Jeremy, is the Maintenance Coordinator at Warrior Met Coal 4 North Portal, and Ricky is the Portal Superintendent at Warrior Met Coal Blue Creek Mine. With deep roots in the industry and daily ties to the mines, we understand exactly what coal families go through when relocating for work.

Over the past 7 years, we’ve had the honor of helping hundreds of coal families relocate to Alabama, guiding them through the same process we once walked. Our mission is simple: to point coal families home. Whether you’re looking for Alabama coal jobs in Tuscaloosa, Brookwood, Berry, Fayette, Northport, Oakman, Jasper, or anywhere throughout the state of Alabama, our family is here to help yours. No matter where your journey takes you, call us first — we can assist with any home or property in Alabama.
